Unlocking the 5 Barrier Domes
In total, there are 5 barrier domes sealing off parts of the artificial islands. Here‘s an overview of how to obtain the key cards needed to bring down the forcefields:
Step 1: Craft the Institute Key Card
First, we need to collect 3 Repair Devices located offshore from the islands:

Broken Tooth Island – Collect 3 fireflies and activate fog lights on a boat to get Repair Device #1

South of Stranded Remains – Repeat to obtain Repair Device #2

East of Island of Pins – One more time nets us Repair Device #3
Purchase the Fine Gift from the NPC shop east of the Deserted Water Treatment Plant. Use it to craft the Repair Tool Set, combining your 3 Devices into the crucial Institute Key Card.
Pro Tip: The Fine Gift only costs 240 Trade Coins. A bargain for this quest!
Step 2: Farm the Institute Key Card
The Institute Key Card can also randomly drop from defeating the powerful Aberrants located around the artificial islands.
Some of the best farming spots include:
- Deserted Water Treatment Plant
- Stone Mountain
- Feiyun Mountain
Based on player data aggregates, the drop rate is approximately 1.5%. Equipping loot luck matrices like Zero‘s and Pepper‘s can boost this to 2.5% or higher. Bring your A-game roster and farm those aberrants!
Step 3: Reach North Gemini Island
With the Institute Key Card acquired, head back to the transmission device east of the Water Treatment Plant. Activate it with the card to teleport onto North Gemini Island.

Step 4: Collect Permission Key Card Tyrone
From North Gemini, traverse southeast to South Gemini Island. Climb the mountain there covered in massive roots to discover Tyrone inside a cargo container at the peak.
Snag this first Permission Key Card, then hop through the nearby blue portal to return to North Gemini.
Step 5: Unlock the Sea Horizon Stand
On North Gemini once more, locate the transmission device and use Tyrone‘s key card on it. This will transport you to the Sea Horizon Stand zone.
Defeat the enemies atop the central mountain, then claim the second Permission Key Card, Morris, from the middle.
This island also contains a chest with a valuable Gold Nucleus – grab it before moving on!
Step 6: Listen to Earwyn Island
Next up is reaching Listen to Earwyn Island to find our third and final Permission Key Card.
Head back to the Island of Pins and interact with the transmission device using the Morris key. This warps you straight to Listen to Earwyn. Journey north and ascend the central platform to discover Key Card Damien.

While you‘re here, climb to the mountain peak near the northwest shore to loot another glittering Gold Nucleus!
Step 7: Diurnal Islet – The Final Barrier Dome
Only one barrier dome remains now!
Return to the Listen to Earwyn transmission device and use the Damien key card. This provides access to the Diurnal Islet.
Head south and prepare for an epic boss battle against Silver Helmet and Raging Fire. Equip your most powerful ice weapons and matrices. The combined DPS required to defeat both bosses is around 18,000.
