1. Best VR Zombie Survival: Arizona Sunshine
For full zombie immersion, strap into virtual reality with Arizona Sunshine. This FPS drops you into blistering Southwestern US landscapes like Arizona and New Mexico armed with realistic motion-controlled weapons. Arizona Sunshine nails the VR weapon handling – I find pumping shotguns, reloading pistols, and firing bows highly intuitive.
You‘ll need to scavenge ammo and other resources from abandoned hardware stores, junkyards, and more as you traverse large open levels. Zombies vary from slow shufflers to quick undead, and special mutated zombies introduce unique threats. I‘ve played nearly all the content available now across 38 story missions – both solo and in online co-op with up to 3 friends – and it still gets my heart racing!
If you own a quality VR headset for PC or PlayStation, Arizona Sunshine should be in your library. No flatscreen game matches its visceral zombie battles.

2. Parkour Away the Apocalypse in Dying Light 2
After logging over 126 hours in it according to Steam, I can firmly say Dying Light 2 has set a new benchmark for zombie survival parkour. Set 15 years after the original, you control undercover agent Aiden Caldwell exploring the crumbling open city of Villedor.
By day, you meet faction leaders, make alliance decisions, and scavenge supplies. By night, the infected emerge, savagely fast and lethal. Here Dying Light‘s signature traversal gameplay shines. As I parkour across rooftops, climbing cracked walls and leaping wide gaps, I often have a dozen freakish zombies right on my heels. One mistimed jump means gruesome death. I live for these thrilling chase sequences that get my heart pounding as I fling myself off skyscrapers and grapple up sheer walls.
With deep weapon crafting and plenty of zombie bashing, Dying Light 2 captures that addictive gameplay loop of venturing out in daylight to prepare for white-knuckle night runs. And the decaying city visuals paired with ominous sound effects feels like a real zombie wasteland.
If you crave high stakes movement mechanics blended with melee viscera, Dying Light 2 can‘t be matched.

I‘ve played World War Z with both random matches and friends in private lobbies. The satisfaction of blasting away an incoming mass of zombies with turrets, mines, gun emplacements and more as a coordinated squad gives an awesome feeling of camaraderie. Ammo is scarce so you have to maximize every grenade, molotov, and environmental explosive to thin staggering mobs.
Unlocking new weapons and perks to outfit your preferred class – whether assault, medic, gunslinger or more – enhances longevity too. If you want visceral co-op shooting blended with real time strategy as you manage resources and tactical abilities, grab 3 friends for World War Z.
