With step-by-step solutions, tips from my extensive playthroughs, and even some fun trivia along the way, you‘ll breeze through Child Lane and be ready for whatever adventures lie ahead. So let‘s dive right in!

Introducing Underground Blossom and Rusty Lake

But first, let‘s back up a bit and talk about Underground Blossom‘s origins. This indie point-and-click puzzle game comes from Rusty Lake, the twisted mind behind acclaimed series like the Cube Escape games. Their titles feature bizarre puzzles, eerie atmospheres, and surreal storylines.

Underground Blossom builds on Rusty Lake‘s signature style while bringing the series into new locales. Moving the setting to a metro system allows for an intriguing visual motif and built-in structure for progression between chapters. Child Lane represents the second stop in your journey.

Inside Child Lane Station – Characters, Setting and Core Mechanics

Stepping off the train into Child Lane station, you find a neglected platform overgrown with vines and vegetation. Exploring the area reveals a cast of eccentric characters like the strict station master Mr. Owl, imaginative young Laura, and troubled musician Rose. The richly detailed art and sound design create an immersive, haunting ambiance.

Underground Blossom employs classic point-and-click mechanics. You‘ll gather items, interact with the environment and characters, and combine objects to solve intricate puzzles. Puzzles often involve deciphering codes, unlocking doors, piecing together images or making conversations. Child Lane ramps up the challenge with multi-step puzzles that test your deductive skills.

Now that you understand the basics, let‘s conquer Child Lane!

Walkthrough Part 1 – Gathering Clues from the Posters and Phone Booth

When you first gain control, head left towards Laura and Rose to spot a poster laying on the ground. Pick this up for later – it holds visual clues. Next, use the scraper from your inventory on the gummed panel near the girls to scrape off some sticky gum.

Give the gum to Laura to chew and blow a bubble with. When she pops it, you can take the used gum. Stick this to the empty poster frame to affix the poster you found earlier.

Study the poster image closely. Follow the instructions to click the smile, eyes, bracelet, hair, eyes again, and finally the smile once more. This will trigger an animation revealing a secret number. Make sure to memorize or write down this number code for later!

Now check out the second poster with vehicle images on it. Following the order drink, hat, kite, camel, airplane, sun will make a key appear. Grab this and use it on the nearby phone booth to unlock it, earning you the "Escape the Booth" achievement. Only 18% of players have unlocked this tricky achievement so far!

Walkthrough Part 2 – Gathering Clock Hands and Camera

Next, seek out Laura hiding behind the imposing owl statue. Interact with her, then examine the newspaper stand and owl statue itself.

You‘ll notice the owl statue is missing a window pane. Take the extra glass panel laying nearby and place it in the empty second window slot. Now swap the positions of the two panes to form the tree image shown below. Creating this specific image is needed to progress.

Completed tree window pane puzzle

Now grab the crank handle beside the newspaper stand. Attach this to the stand and turn it to pop open the front panel.

Click on the photo service sign multiple times until the shopkeeper makes a comment, unlocking the "Photo Op" achievement. Only 13% of players have earned this funny hidden moment so far!

Next, hand the newspaper on the ground to Mr. Owl. You‘ll need to rearrange the headline strips to restore the sensible article layout. Once done, take the coin that appears in Mr. Owl‘s pocket.

Walkthrough Part 3 – Solving the Owl Statue and Code Box Puzzles

With coin in hand, return to the phone booth you unlocked earlier. Insert the coin to call the number code seen on the first poster.

Head back to the ominous owl statue and inspect it until its eyes start glowing. Now place the metal rod from your inventory into the crevice to reveal a new number code – make note of the code 8827.

Enter this 4 digit code into the numbered box beside Mr. Owl to receive a camera as a reward. Give the camera to the eager Laura to let her take two photographs of your character. Smile!

Walkthrough Part 4 – Developing Photos and Finding the Time

After the photo shoot, walk away and you‘ll notice Rose has gone missing from her bench. Head down the steps to the metro boarding area. Look in Rose‘s bag to retrieve a screwdriver and pendant for later.

Use the screwdriver to unscrew the panel where you originally got the gum. This allows you to take the glass pane stored inside.

Return upstairs and place this last pane on the first window slot to fully complete the image.

Next, interact with Laura still hiding by the owl. She‘ll drop a roll of film that you need to pick up. Insert the film into the photo development box near where you got the newspaper developed earlier.

The photo shopkeeper will tell you to come back in 20 minutes. So change the clock time forward by 20 minutes and return to collect your developed photos. They will reveal a time – 4:05. Memorize this for the next puzzle!

Walkthrough Part 5 – Decoding the Ticket Machine

On the other window panes you filled in earlier, you might notice some symbol combinations. Use the clues from each pane to decipher the code for the metro ticket machine.

Once you input the proper pattern based on those clues, a ticket will drop out of the machine!

Now change the clock time to match the time revealed in the developed photos – 4:05. Bring the ticket to the conductor and he will allow you to board, unlocking the "Ticket to Ride" achievement. Only 10% of players have solved this tricky puzzle so far!

And with that, you‘ve solved all the brain-teasers and escaped Child Lane! Hopefully this guide has equipped you to conquer Underground Blossom going forward. Let me know if you need any help with future chapters in this wonderfully weird world. Happy adventuring my friend!
