Welcome to Khemenu Temple, the King‘s Eternal Sanctuary
After chatting with Bonifaz in Aaru Village, you‘ll battle through mobs of rogue automatons as you traverse the desert following the path the archaeologists took.
Around 13:30 into the quest, you‘ll arrive at the massive stone Khemenu Temple where Deshret worshipped and mummified Egyption pharaoh style. This sacred site is key to entering the mausoleum.
Stepping into this ancient temple, you feel a powerful mystical energy in the air. You know you‘re about to dive deep into history. Light those torches and open those doors, raider-style!
Lighting Up This Pyramid is a Total Puzzle
The first epic puzzle you‘ll tackle inside Khemenu Temple involves redirecting Primal Ember energy to light up the braziers around a large pyramid statue.
You‘ll need to obtain a Primal Ember at the center keystone, lure it around the pyramid, then carefully absorb its power twice to direct and light up each brazier.
Timing the Primal Ember absorption is key – get too close and you‘ll absorb it immediately and have to restart! Pro tip: I like using a bow character to snipe the Ember from a distance.
Once you activate both braziers, the lower level unlocks. Get those torches lit, friend!
Surviving the Three Trials of the Temple
At around 27:30 into the quest, you‘ll reach a grand chamber with three trials standing between you and entry to the inner sanctum rooms. Hope you packed some food buffs!
Trial #1 has you adjusting Primal Sandglasses to change the sand flow direction. Set them all to flow upwards to open the door.
For Trial #2, you‘ll repeat the Primal Ember lighting puzzle to illuminate one of two statues. Use the 4-leaf sigil gadget to swap sides.
The Final Trial brings back the Ember lighting mechanic, but on a precarious stone boat! Use your best ranged attacks here.
Stay moving and use your best abilities to crush the beastly enemies guarding these trials. Their HP bars will melt before Deshret‘s ancient might!
The Final Steps to Reach King Deshret‘s Resting Place
Wow, you‘ve overcome all the trials! Just one last step remains to complete this epic quest.
Around 37:30, you‘ll enter the final chamber with a grand mural. Pass through the section that glows, then follow the secret passage to arrive at the hidden Mausoleum of King Deshret at last!
Take a moment to soak in the atmosphere of this ancient site. The ornate sarcophagus holds the remains of the great pharaoh, but mysteries still surround his true legacy.
