So when I first heard whispers of an obscure underground waypoint buried deep below Chatrakam Cave, I simply had to uncover its secrets for myself.
If you also relish solving Genshin‘s most elusive puzzles, unlocking this hidden waypoint should definitely be on your bucket list. Just be warned: finding the cave entrance requires both sharp observation skills and completing some prerequisite quest steps. With the right know-how, you‘ll be teleporting to this exclusive location in no time. Let‘s dig in!
An Overview of Genshin Impact
For some quick background, Genshin Impact is an open-world action RPG developed and published by miHoYo. First released in September 2020, it has since expanded to PlayStation, PC, iOS, and Android platforms.
While inspired by Breath of the Wild, Genshin differentiated itself with a gacha game monetization model and anime aesthetic. The game has been widely praised for its massive, intricately designed open world, captivating storyline, and diverse characters.
Freedom of exploration lies at the core of the Genshin Impact experience. As the Traveler, you traverse the realms of Teyvat discovering vistas, unlocking waypoints, opening treasure chests, and conquering puzzle-filled domains.
These puzzles range from straightforward elemental activation challenges to devious multi-step barriers guarding precious loot. Solving them frequently grants access to new areas, powerful weapons, and other tantalizing rewards.
While puzzles play a major role in progression, Genshin‘s world also hides plentiful secrets off the main path for inquisitive players to uncover. Obscure teleport waypoints, elite bosses, and even entire subterranean cave systems dwell behind unassuming waterfalls, false walls, and deep chasms.
Ferreting out these hidden gems demands thorough exploration. As any intrepid Genshin veteran can tell you, no leaf goes unturned in the quest for every last morsel of loot!
Where to Find Chatrakam Cave
Our target today lies under the quiet Chatrakam Cave in southeast Liyue. Visible above ground, Chatrakam Cave appears at first glance to be merely picturesque scenery. However, directly below the cave rests a crucial Statue of the Seven and teleport waypoint.
Chatrakam Cave resides on the eastern edge of Liyue Harbor along the bay cliffs. The nearest teleport points are the Statues of Seven at Qingce Village and Xinyue Kiosk.
From either location, head east following the coastline and you‘ll soon spot Chatrakam‘s unmistakable gaping maw in the seaside bluffs.
If navigating via the world map, you can pinpoint Chatrakam Cave on the southern shores of Guili Plains, east of Qingce Village.
With the cave in your sights, don‘t enter the above-ground portion. Instead, we need to locate the hidden waterfall entrance on the rear northwest side, so let‘s head in that direction.
Completing the Agnihotra Sutra Quest
This is the make-or-break step to gain access to the actual cave depths. Chatrakam‘s waterfall entrance remains sealed until finishing a preceding quest called Agnihotra Sutra. So if you hope to enter the cave, Agnihotra Sutra must be completed first.
This quest becomes available at Adventure Rank 30. It starts by investigating a large conch-shaped ruin along the southern coast of Cuijue Slope. Examining the conch will trigger a cutscene introducing the quest.
You must then light several torch lamps around the ruins by casting elemental skills. Once all torches are lit, return to the conch to receive the quest reward, the Old Lyre gadget.
This unique item is integral for solving certain musical puzzles via Dendro elemental reactions. Equipping and using the lyre will be necessary later to unlock the Chatrakam Cave waypoint.
With the Agnihotra Sutra quest and Old Lyre now complete, we can finally access the hidden cave entrance!
Locating the Hidden Waterfall Entrance
Recall that the cave‘s rear northwest side houses the concealed entrance we‘re after.
Make your way behind Chatrakam Cave to the tall seaside cliffs nearby. Look for water cascading down the cliff face and jump down directly into the waterfall.
Passing through the waterfall reveals a tunnel that leads into the secluded depths of Chatrakam Cave. Following this gloomy passage forward, we‘ll need to stay alert to avoid sheer drops as the path winds deeper inward.
Eventually, a spacious opening appears ahead with sunlight streaming in from above. This magnificent subterranean hollow teems with Dendro elemental energy.
Our goal lies across this chasm, but no bridges are in sight. Not to worry, some creative gliding will get us to the other side.
Either propel yourself upwards via the geyser jets or simply float gently across the wide gap. Both gliding and climbing work equally well to safely reach the far ledge.
Activating the Dendro Totems
Finally, at the opposite end of this sunny cavern, you‘ll spot a large sealed tunnel guarded by four towering Dendro Totems.
Interacting with each totem extends its thick vines toward the center in an attempt to unlock the tunnel. But beware! One of the four totems plays an out-of-tune note when activated.
Until restoring this faulty totem, the seal will remain shut. Listen closely after activating a totem to detect which one produces discordant notes.
Once you‘ve identified the problem totem, equip the Old Lyre gadget and play a song in front of it. This harmonizes the totem, sprouting new glowing vines that fully retract the seal!
Unlocking the Coveted Waypoint
The moment of truth has arrived! Pass through the opened tunnel and you‘ll discover a pristine underground lake.
Bask in the gentle glow of a Statue of the Seven and the gleaming Chatrakam Cave teleport waypoint before you.
Interact with the Statue of the Seven first to replenish its energy. Then activate the waypoint to officially register it with the teleport network.
As a reward, you‘ll receive some precious Primogems for unlocking this fast travel point. Beyond the satisfaction of completing this tricky puzzle, you now have access to a convenient method for returning to this scenic subterranean oasis.
Whenever you need to quickly travel to this remote corner of Liyue, just tune the waypoint and zip straight underground. Pretty handy!
Mastering Genshin‘s Perplexing Puzzles
Solving the riddle of Chatrakam Cave provides a microcosm for tackling many of Genshin Impact‘s inscrutable puzzles. Here are some universal tips to keep in mind:
