Now it‘s up to you to delve into the role of Beverly Hills‘ zombie exterminator-in-chief. You‘ll be smashing undead chef cooks in 5-star kitchens, battling armored guards in posh lounges, and crashing some insane pool parties full of the deadly undead.
Clearing out these infested mansions will unlock new safe zones across the city, continue the cryptic Obi Wan Khan storyline, and score you some extremely stylish loot. This mission exemplifies Dead Island 2‘s signature mix of frantic first-person melee combat and rich environmental storytelling.

Step 1: Survive the Zombie Onslaught in the Cabbott Mansion Courtyard
The Cabbott Mansion in south Beverly Hills is your first target. Approach the front gates to trigger a cutscene showing the mansion courtyard overflowing with zombies. Undead patrons lounge by the pool, while infected waiters and guards mill about the opulent garden grounds.
Time to crash this party! Fighting your way through this area is no cake walk though. You‘ll face a mix of the slow Shambler zombies as well as the tougher Thug variants covered head to toe in armor. A good opening strategy is to rush to the second floor balcony overhead to snipe and throw explosives down at the deadly masses below.
Once you‘ve thinned out the herd, it‘s time to drop down and get up close and personal! I found the most effective weapons here were sledgehammers, machetes, and knives. Blunt, heavyweight weapons can crush the Thugs‘ armor, while swift blades make quick work of the Shamblers.
Don‘t let yourself get surrounded – keep moving and utilize the columns and hedges as cover. If you become overwhelmed, retreat back to the balcony or lead zombies through the interior doorways to separate them into manageable groups.
After a tense and bloody battle, the Cabbott courtyard should be littered with dismembered zombies. Now it‘s time to head inside and continue the carnage!
Step 2: Blast Through the Mansion Guards Holed Up in the Living Room
After battling the mansion exterior, head through the front door into an eerily quiet foyer. The silence doesn‘t last long though! As you approach the opulent living room ahead, you‘ll hear shouts as a group of mansion security guards spot you.
These hostile human foes will shoot you on sight with pistols and submachine guns. Rumor is they are part of a cannibal cult dedicated to Obi Wan…so don‘t feel too bad about killing them!
Your goal here is to retrieve the mansion key ring sitting on the ornate coffee table. To do so, carefully advance into the room using the array of couches and pillars as cover. Try to lure guards around corners for quick takedowns. Distract them with thrown items then hit them from behind with sprint attacks or aimed shots.
Once you‘ve defeated the guards, grab the key ring and get ready to explore the rest of this luxurious deathtrap. Be sure to loot ammo and supplies from the guards‘ corpses – you‘ll need it for the battles ahead!
Step 3: Search the Master Bedroom and Bathroom for a Celebrity Magazine
Having unlocked the mansion, head upstairs to the sprawling master bedroom. Unfortunately, this area is also crawling with zombies just waiting to catch you with your pants down – literally, as some burst out of the bathroom stalls!
This large suite is challenging to navigate due to all the furniture blocking paths and doorways. You‘ll need to circle around utilizing the connected rooms and bathroom area. As always, avoid letting the Infected swarm and overwhelm you.
After eliminating the ghouls one by one, start searching the bedroom for the unique loot item here – an embarassing celebrity gossip magazine. Check the nightstands and under the bed to eventually locate it.
Fun fact: many players completely missed finding this magazine on their first playthrough! So be sure to grab this collectible before leaving the master bedroom and moving onto the next area.
Step 4: Dive Into the Mansion Pool Area to Find a Hidden Ruby Ring
After exiting the bedroom, fight your way downstairs and past the mansion‘s lavish kitchen. Follow the signs pointing towards the rear pool deck – your final stop in the Cabbott estate.
Bursting out onto the sunny pool area, you‘ll be greeted by a crowd of zombies streaming out of the changing rooms. Equip a trusty shotgun and blast the undead right back into the locker stalls!
After dealing with the horde, take a moment to look around at the graceful statues and fountains surrounding the pristine pool. Hard to imagine this was once an oasis of wealth and leisure!
Your target here is the ruby ring sitting on a table overlooking the water. Grabbing it completes all your objectives for raiding this first mansion. Don‘t miss checking the pool house andStorage Room for extra loot either!
Step 5: Infiltrate Three More Mansions to Find Special Items
Completing the Cabbott Mansion is just the beginning. Next you‘ll have to repeat the process of infiltration and zombie extermination at three more Beverly Hills estates. Each mansion has a similar posh layout but unique items to find and enemies to defeat.
At the second Whitlatch Mansion, battle through the kitchen and dining room against a mix of chef and Thug zombies to acquire an important security key card. Then at the third Buckwald Mansion, fight your way to the home office to retrieve an ancient tribal mask.
Finally, clear out the Rodetsky Mansion until you reach the rooftop lounge and patio to claim a bottle of rare vintage wine. Take your time exploring these mansions fully – you‘ll find scattered loot and weapon parts everywhere.
Throughout these intense battles, continue utilizing the same strategies that worked before. Stick to cover in large open rooms, separate zombies into smaller groups, and keep your weapons suited for close or long range combat as needed.

Boss Battle: Surviving Obi Wan‘s Insane Pool Party
After acquiring all the special items, your mission marker leads you towards the goat statue marking the notoriously decadent Goat Pen mansion. Nearby, crazed scribblings on the wall warn of "Cleansing Fire" and Obi Wan‘s army of the dead. Ominous!
Approaching the mansion triggers a cutscene where Obi Wan dramatically appears and unleashes the full fury of his zombie minions against you. Now it‘s time for the climatic mansion battle you‘ve been waiting for!
The Goat Pen mansion‘s rear pool area is your arena for this epic boss fight. You‘ll face powered up zombies, armed guards, and Obi Wan himself teleporting around unleashing deadly attacks.
Use the pool features like ledges and loungers carefully for cover. Get up to the balcony bar for an elevated position whenever possible. I found snipers and grenade launchers worked well for damaging Obi Wan from a distance.
Obi Wan will aggressively pursue you up close with spinning sword strikes and energy blasts. When he starts glowing blue, RUN – this means he‘s about unleash a huge 360 shockwave!
Keep whittling down Obi Wan‘s health while dealing with the adds as best you can. With persistence and the right weapons, you‘ll finally see the self-proclaimed prophet collapse for good!
Mission Complete – Enjoy Your Hard Earned Rewards
Once the Goat Pen pool runs red with blood instead of champagne, you‘ll complete The Clean and The Snatch mission at last. Quite a ride, wasn‘t it? Now with the mansions cleared, new safe zones open across Beverly Hills.
You‘ll also have scored plenty of loot like weapons, mods, jewelry and cash to spend at vendors. This lengthy mission provides a big XP payoff too allowing you to unlock new skills.
