Step 1: Enter the Dune of Carouses

Travel to the marked location on your map in southern Hypostyle Desert. When you approach the huge structure, you‘ll see a Stone Gateway with a shining blue barrier across it.

Interact with the gateway and use the Scarlet Sand Slate in your inventory. This provides clearance to pass through the barrier and enter the Dune.

Tip: If you don‘t have the Scarlet Sand Slate, you likely haven‘t completed the Golden Slumber quest yet. Refer to the prerequisites section above.

Next, head inside and jump down the sandy funnel in the center. This will slide you quickly down to the bottom level. Don‘t worry about taking fall damage.

Step 2: Rotate the Cell to Face the Wall

After dropping down, head forward into the next room. Here you‘ll see a giant rectangular pillar called a Cell, as well as some Stonehide Lawachurl enemies.

You‘ll see a big inactive mechanism in the center, surrounded by several Stone Pillars. Approach it and interact to bring up an activation prompt.

Select "Start" to activate the mechanism. This will trigger a cutscene where parts of the Dune shift, and barriers around its exterior start to lower!

Note: The barriers have wind currents that will repel you if you try to glide off the Dune. We‘ll have to find another route up.

Step 7: Climb to the Top and Claim the Luxurious Chest

From the mechanism chamber, return to the sandy funnel and use the fan‘s air current to launch upwards again.

Make your way around the Dune‘s outer path to the back side, opposite your original entrance.

Here you‘ll find some breakable rubble you can climb up to reach the very top level. At the summit is a Stonehide Lawachurl guarding a Common Chest.

Defeat the enemy, then loot the Common Chest for some treasures.

Finally, interact with the Luxurious Chest tucked against the back wall! This grand chest provides the best rewards for completing the Dune‘s challenge.
