Tower of Fantasy 1.5 Update Patch Notes – Everything You Need to Know

Hey friend! I‘m so pumped to dig into everything included in Tower of Fantasy‘s huge 1.5 update. As a long-time fan of MMOs and open world games, I‘ve been totally hooked on exploring the world of Aida. And this new update takes the experience to the next level!

In this comprehensive guide just for you, I‘ll break down everything in the 1.5 patch so you can get the most out of all the new content. From a sprawling new island to raid boss battles, weapon changes, and tons of fixes, let‘s dive in!

An Entire New Landmass to Uncover: Artificial Island

Easily the most exciting addition in this update is the brand new explorable region of Artificial Island. This area introduces a massive futuristic map with robotic environments, alien structures, and state-of-the-art ruins.

As soon as I loaded into Artificial Island, I knew I was in for an awesome adventure. The landscapes are simply stunning – broken-down mechanized cities, giant cables stretching up into the sky, flickering holograms – it feels like you‘ve stepped onto an alien planet!

Artificial Island is jam-packed with things to discover, including:

  • Pages of new story quests and side activities to complete
  • Challenging environmental puzzles that reward supply pods
  • Hidden chests tucked away throughout the terrain
  • Powerful new bosses like Chrome and Vera to test your skills
  • Lootable ruins overflowing with precious upgrade materials
  • And best of all – many sources of gold nuclei for advancing your gear

I‘ve already spent hours combing every corner of the island searching for puzzle solutions, supply pods, and those oh-so-precious gold nuclei. Based on my exploration, here are some tips:

  • Use your aerial mobility from climbing and gliding to reach elevated puzzle platforms
  • Clear out the new Sabriepots minibosses to unlock puzzle rooms
  • Inside the lootable ruins, search for breakable walls that hide secret paths
  • Activate data terminals to spawn extra elite bosses for more looting

With how massive and intricate Artificial Island is, you could easily spend the entire update just uncovering its many secrets. This new area basically doubles the explorable zones in the game!

To support the increased size, the developers have thankfully boosted the game‘s level cap as well. You can now reach level 70 to take on the island‘s formidable new challenges.

Artificial Island is an absolute treasure trove for progression. All those precious materials will catapult your character‘s advancement. Not to mention the fun of unraveling the island‘s many mysteries!

Artificial Island By the Numbers

To give you an idea of just how much new content is packed into this map update, here are some key details about what you‘ll find on Artificial Island:

  • Over 30 new story quests added
  • Around 50 new world exploration quests
  • 10+ environmental puzzle rooms with supply pod rewards
  • 30+ elite bosses across the island
  • 100+ common and precious chests scattered around
  • 20+ ruins filled with upgrade materials

And that‘s just scratching the surface – you‘ll encounter new collectibles, platforming challenges, data logs, and more as you explore every corner. It‘s a goldmine of new adventures!

Build and Customize Your Personal Hideaway

In addition to new lands, the 1.5 update also lets you construct your very own customizable home! This fun new feature unlocks after reaching level 30.

After placing down your homestead, you can really make the space your own by:

  • Choosing from a variety of themed furniture sets and decorations to adorn the interior and exterior
  • Placing chibi figures of your owned Simulacra around the home
  • Showing off your personal vehicles in a garage-like area
  • Selecting background music to play during your stay
  • And much more creative customization!

It‘s your own little sanctuary where you can kick back and relax in Aida. Plus, resting inside your home will gradually recover your health and energy over time.

I‘ve already visited some friends‘ homes to see their creative designs – one was decorated like a moody nightclub, another an alien biodome. Seeing how everyone personalizes their spaces is awesome.

The home system is a really fun way to express your style. After all that fighting monsters and conquering domains, it‘s nice having your own personal abode. I can‘t wait to deck mine out with Neon Genesis and Akira-themed items!

Home Building Requirements

Before you can start construction, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  • Reach level 30
  • Complete the "A New Journey" quest
  • Spend 1000 Dark Crystals to purchase the land rights

You‘ll also need to shell out Dark Crystals when purchasing new furniture sets and items. So be prepared to save your precious currency if you want to build out your dream home!

Assemble Your Crew for 8 Player Raids

For those seeking an intense co-op challenge, this update introduces 8 player raid boss battles! These are no joke – you‘ll need to work together with friends to take down these formidable foes.

Here‘s a quick rundown of what to expect in the new raid system:

  • Raids unlock after reaching level 55 and finishing the Main Questline
  • Matchmaking queues let you partner with other players
  • Each boss has complex patterns and dangerous wipe mechanics
  • Traditional roles like tank, DPS, and healer are valuable
  • Scoring raid victories earns special currencies for upgrading gear

I‘ve tried the first couple raids so far, and the coordination required is insane! When those bosses enter special modes at low health and start bombarding you with attacks, it takes perfect teamwork not to get demolished.

Having participated in high-end PvE raids before in games like Lost Ark and FFXIV, I‘m excited to take on Tower of Fantasy‘s challenging new 8 player content. Overcoming these battles rewards you with some really cool-looking gear too.

My advice if you want to succeed:

  • Study boss mechanics and tells before attempting
  • Voice chat with your team to quickly call out warnings
  • Use your class roles properly by tanking damage or healing others
  • Bring your most synergistic weapons and matrices for your chosen Simulacrum

With fine-tuned teamwork and coordination, your crew can overcome these thrilling new challenges. The raid system should give PvE-focused players like myself tons of replay value.

Current Raid Bosses

Here are the colossal bosses you can currently face off against in the 8 player raids:

  • Chrome – A formidable armored robot wielding a massive hammer
  • Vera – A towering insectoid queen with deadly blade arms

I‘m sure more imposing boss characters will get added over future updates too. But for now, these two provide some pulse-pounding inaugural raid challenges!

New Simulacrum: Claudia and Her Matrix

What would a major update be without a cool new Simulacrum to unlock? Enter the cryo swordswoman Claudia!

Both Claudia and her powerful 6-star Claudia Matrix become available in this patch. As someone who mains ice-wielding characters, I was really excited to add her to my roster.

Here‘s an overview of Claudia‘s abilities and gameplay:

  • Wields a cryo-infused katana to unleash elegant slashes
  • Excels as a main DPS character who chains devastating frost combos
  • Can inflict freezing to control foes and boost damage
  • Skills like Absolute Zero dash and spin while damaging enemies
  • Passives boost crit rate and frost damage bonuses

As you can tell, Claudia exemplifies the classic cryo DPS fantasy. I‘ve been pairing her with my S-rank Frost team of Frigg and Tsubasa. Freezing enemies solid then shattering them into oblivion with Claudia is so satisfying!

Her exclusive Claudia Matrix provides excellent boosts for Frost comps including:

  • 15% damage increase for all Frost element characters
  • 30% additional frost damage bonus
  • 10% faster cooldown reduction

It feels great finally having a dedicated cryo-focused Simulacrum rather than needing to use Samir. If you enjoy freeze team builds, Claudia is a must-have addition. Her elegant frost-infused swordplay is awesome to see in action.

How to Obtain Claudia

To recruit Claudia, you‘ll need to progress through the new Story quests on Artificial Island after the version update. Eventually you‘ll unlock Claudia as a reward for clearing the missions.

Her exclusive Claudia Matrix can be obtained from the standard gacha banners after unlocking Claudia. You‘ll need to hit that 0.5% gacha jackpot, so blessings of luck from the gods!

I ended up having to shell out around 10,000 Dark Crystals before I scored her Matrix. But now my Frost team is complete – the power was worth the price!

Bygone Phantasm Revamp and New Buff Types

The challenging roguelike Bygone Phantasm mode received some major changes in the 1.5 update too. Most notably, you can no longer change weapons during stages.

This means you‘ll have to commit to your chosen weapons before entering. No more swapping to counter shields or mechs on the fly.

Personally I think this change makes success more about preparation than reaction. You need to pick synergistic weapons for your Simulacrum to handle any threat. It becomes more strategic.

To further emphasize build variety, enemies in Bygone Phantasm also gain one of five new buff types:

  • Berserk – Massively increased attack
  • Affliction – Constant DoT damage
  • Ironskin – Greatly reduced damage taken
  • Speedburst – Wildly enhanced movement speed
  • Rebirth – Revives after being defeated

As you can imagine, these can really mix things up! Something speedy like Samir helps deal with Speedburst enemies. Meanwhile Claudia can lock down and destroy Beserk foes. You‘ve got to plan weapon synergies and team comps to counter each buff.

It definitely makes each Bygone Phantasm run feel more unique depending on the buffs you encounter. This should keep veterans like myself on our toes for a long time coming. Mastering Bygone Phantasm may be tough, but it‘s supremely rewarding!

Assorted Improvements and Bug Fixes

On top of huge content additions, the 1.5 update also fixed a laundry list of bugs – over 20 documented fixes! Here are some highlights:

  • Fixed graphical errors and incorrectly displayed text
  • Added missing weapon descriptions
  • Corrected skills not consuming endurance as intended
  • Fixed problems with stun not properly triggering
  • Increased max accumulated login days from 7 to 9 when offline

It‘s clear the devs took community feedback to heart and polished up some nagging issues. Everything feels noticeably smoother after updating.

Smaller unlisted improvements I noticed include reduced terrain clipping, weapon switching optimizations, better enemy pathfinding, and more intuitive UI menus. Overall just a nice layer of polish.

As with any huge content update, I did notice a few new bugs pop up like wonky particle effects and the occasional crash. But nothing too detrimental. I appreciate the major effort to squash bugs – that list of fixed issues is seriously impressive!

Brave New Horizons to Explore My Friend!

Whew, after all that we‘ve covered, you can see why I‘m so hyped about Tower of Fantasy‘s version 1.5 update! There‘s almost too much exciting new content to handle.

An entirely new island zone… Challenging co-op raids… Housing customization… A badass new Simulacrum… This update basically doubles the size and fun factor of the game!

I don‘t know about you, but I can‘t wait to fully chart every inch of the mysterious Artificial Island and deck out my new homestead. Not to mention conquering those intense raid bosses for prestige.

And I‘ll definitely be spending time optimizing Claudia and her Matrix to destroy enemies with frosty fury. Her elegant katana skills are just awesome to behold.

With so many promising changes and additions, version 1.5 feels like a new chapter for Tower of Fantasy. I can‘t wait to explore the brave new horizons opening up across Aida!

There‘s never been a better time to dive into this sensational open world MMO. Thanks for taking the time to learn about the update with me – now get in there, share some fun adventures with your friends, and savor all the new content Tower of Fantasy has to offer!
