Offering the pistils to Fravashi Trees can heal the withering and corruption plaguing the ancient trees. This process is the focus of the Pale Fire quest.
You‘ll need to find 6 Udumbara Pistils total to fully restore the 3 Fravashi Trees around Asipattravana Swamp. So let‘s dive into each pistil location and how to grab them!
Udumbara Pistil Location #1
Our first stop is the cliff west of the Viyudha Asipatravana Statue of the Seven. Let‘s teleport to the nearby waypoint and then glide upwards along the cliffside.
Keep heading upwards until you reach the very top of this cliff. You‘ll see some Frog Shooters hopping around up here, so be ready to defend yourself. Once at the top, turn south and float across the valley to the next cliff.
Land on this cliff ledge and you should now see the glowing pistil hanging from a tree branch.
Make sure to mark it on your map so you know you‘ve grabbed this one! The surrounding area is beautiful, with waterfalls pouring down the valley cliffs. But stay vigilant for Ruin Serpents lurking on the sheer cliffsides.
Udumbara Pistil Location #2
Teleport over to the waypoint east of the first pistil cliff. From here, you should see a tall lone hill in the middle of the swamp waters below.
Glide down to the hilltop to find the second Udumbara Pistil. However, this hill is home to an Elite Rishboland Tiger, so get your best Hydro and Cryo characters ready before landing!
I recommend a strong shield like Zhongli‘s to block the tiger‘s powerful blows as you grab the pistil. Once you‘ve got it, use Cyro and Hydro together to freeze the tiger solid and make your escape.
Udumbara Pistil Location #3
Alright, the third pistil is along the eastern cliffside of the swamp. Let‘s head to the teleport waypoint east of the central hill from the last location.
From this waypoint, simply glide downwards while hugging the cliffside. Eventually you‘ll notice the Udumbara Pistil nestled between some roots along the cliff ledge.
Make sure to carefully scour the tree roots in this area, as the pistil blends in very easily. You can also spot it from the water below when looking upwards.
Now we‘re halfway done! Let‘s keep up the pace.
Udumbara Pistil Location #4
Teleport back to the waypoint used for the second pistil. Then turn east, floating down along the cliff until you reach its base, where water meets rock.
The fourth Udumbara Pistil is down here, near the entrance to a cave. It‘s tucked behind some tree branches so you may need to look around to find it.
Stock up on healing items, as this area is a Ruin Serpent nest. Luring them out one by one makes collecting the pistil much easier. A bow user like Yoimiya works great.

Udumbara Pistil Location #5
Now let‘s head to the northern cliff with a massive tree growing atop it. Teleport to the waypoint used for pistils #2 and #4.
Turn north and glide over the water to reach this cliff. The fifth Udumbara Pistil is about halfway up, among the tangled roots on the tree‘s west side.
Make sure to check both sides of the tree thoroughly – the pistil‘s green glow makes it stick out once you‘re in the right spot. Mark it on your map and get ready to glide to the final pistil!
Udumbara Pistil Location #6
Our last stop is on the same northern cliffside. From the fifth pistil, move eastward through the tree roots while staying low on the cliff ledge.
Before long you should spot the final Udumbara Pistil near some branches along the eastern side of the cliff.
With all 6 pistils collected, we‘re ready to heal those Fravashi Trees! Just follow the quest markers on your map to find the withered trees.
Using the Udumbara Pistils on the Fravashi Trees
Once you‘ve obtained all 6 Udumbara Pistils, it‘s time to offer them to the 3 corrupted Fravashi Trees around Asipattravana Swamp. These massive, ancient trees are marked with golden quest icons on your map.
When you interact with a Fravashi Tree, you‘ll be prompted to make an offering. Select 3 Udumbara Pistils from your inventory to restore the tree‘s health.
Its withering leaves will bloom with healthy green energy! Repeat this process of offering 3 pistils for the remaining 2 Fravashi Trees to complete the Pale Fire quest.
Team Tips for Collecting Udumbara Pistils
Based on my experience scouring Sumeru‘s cliffs for these pistils, here are some tips to prepare your party:

Bring a bow user to snipe cliffside enemies from afar. Yoimiya and Fischl are great options.
